South Sudan

South Sudan is shaped by the White Nile, which flows north through broad plains and feeds the Sudd, one of the world’s largest wetlands. Seasonal floodplains, grasslands, and savannas cover much of the country, supporting large herds of antelope and other wildlife. In the southeast, the land rises into the Imatong Mountains, where Mount Kinyeti is the country’s highest point.
