Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, lying between the Great Lakes region and the upper Nile basin. Lake Victoria borders the south, while Lakes Albert and Edward line parts of the western edge and the Nile flows north through the country. Its landscapes include the Rwenzori Mountains, volcanic highlands, broad savannas, tropical forests, and extensive wetlands around Lake Kyoga.
