Armenia

Armenia lies in the South Caucasus, where high plateaus and mountain ranges cover much of the country. Mount Aragats is its highest point, while Lake Sevan forms a broad expanse of freshwater among the surrounding uplands. Deep river valleys and rocky gorges cut through the landscape, which shifts from dry, open terrain at lower elevations to forests and alpine meadows higher in the mountains.
