Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan lies along the western shore of the Caspian Sea, where the coastline meets broad plains and dry, semi-desert landscapes. The Greater Caucasus rises across the north, while the Kura and Aras rivers cross the central lowlands on their way towards the sea. Further south, the Talysh Mountains and lush Hyrcanian forests contrast with the mud volcanoes and rocky terrain found around Gobustan.
