Iran

Iran lies in Southwestern Asia, with a broad central plateau framed by the Zagros Mountains in the west and the Alborz Mountains in the north. Much of the interior is occupied by the Dasht-e Kavir and Dasht-e Lut deserts, while greener forests line the southern shore of the Caspian Sea. Its landscapes also include volcanic Mount Damavand and long coastlines along the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
