Mongolia

Mongolia lies across the high plateaus of East Asia, where broad grasslands cover much of the country. The Altai Mountains rise in the west, while the Gobi stretches across the south with rocky plains, dunes, and dry valleys. Northern Mongolia is greener, with forests, rivers, and freshwater lakes such as Lake Khövsgöl, while the Khangai and Khentii ranges shape the central and northeastern uplands.
