Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago in the western Pacific, made up of thousands of islands grouped broadly into Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Volcanic mountains rise across many of the larger islands, while long coastlines, coral reefs, and deep bays shape the surrounding waters. Its best-known landscapes include the limestone cliffs and lagoons of Palawan, Bohol’s Chocolate Hills, and Mount Apo, the country’s highest peak.
