Vietnam is a long, narrow country in Southeast Asia, with mountains rising across much of the north and west and a long coastline following its eastern side. The Red River Delta surrounds Hanoi in the north, while the Mekong Delta spreads through the far south in a network of rivers and wetlands. Its landscapes also include limestone islands in Ha Long Bay, the central highlands, forests, and sandy beaches.
