Guatemala

Guatemala lies in Central America, with coastlines on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. A chain of volcanic highlands crosses the south and centre, where Lake Atitlán sits among steep mountains and volcanoes. Farther north, the landscape opens into the lowlands of Petén, a region of tropical forest, wetlands, and limestone terrain.
