Benin

Benin stretches inland from a short coast on the Gulf of Guinea, changing from sandy beaches and lagoons in the south to wooded savanna in the north. Lake Nokoué lies near the coast, while the Ouémé River runs south through much of the country. In the northwest, the Atakora Mountains and Pendjari National Park form a rugged landscape of hills, grasslands, and seasonal rivers.
