Cabo Verde

Cabo Verde is a chain of ten volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean, several hundred kilometres west of Senegal. The northern islands include steep ridges and broad volcanic slopes, while the southern group contains Fogo, whose cone rises to Pico do Fogo, the highest point in the archipelago. Rocky shores, dark lava fields, sandy beaches, and deep valleys give the islands a varied landscape despite their compact size.
