Algeria

Algeria stretches from the Mediterranean coast across the Atlas Mountains and high plateaus into the Sahara. Much of the country is desert, with broad sand seas, rocky plains, and the Ahaggar Mountains rising in the far south. In the southeast, sandstone formations shape Tassili n’Ajjer, while seasonal salt lakes and wadis appear across the drier interior.
