Western Sahara

Western Sahara lies on the Atlantic edge of the Sahara, where a long, mostly straight coastline meets a broad desert interior. Much of the land consists of rocky plains, dry plateaus, and seasonal riverbeds, while sand dunes are concentrated in parts of the north and east. The Saguia el-Hamra valley crosses the north, while the Dakhla peninsula encloses a long, sheltered bay on the Atlantic coast.
