Eritrea

Eritrea lies in the Horn of Africa, with a long coastline along the Red Sea and the Dahlak Archipelago offshore. Its landscape rises from the hot coastal plain into the cooler central highlands, then descends towards broad western lowlands. Salt flats and volcanic terrain shape the southeast, while seasonal rivers and dry valleys cross much of the interior.
