Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau lies on the Atlantic coast of West Africa, where broad river estuaries open into a low-lying coastal plain. Offshore, the Bijagós Archipelago forms a scattered group of islands, sandbanks, mangroves, and tidal channels. Farther inland, the landscape rises gently into woodland and savanna, crossed by the Geba and Corubal rivers and smaller waterways that expand during the rainy season.
