Comoros

Comoros lies in the Indian Ocean at the northern entrance to the Mozambique Channel, between Madagascar and the African mainland. Its three main islands are volcanic, with steep interiors, narrow coastal plains, and Mount Karthala rising above Grande Comore. Forested slopes, rocky headlands, beaches, and coral reefs create varied landscapes across the archipelago, while short streams run from the high ground towards the coast.
