Reunion

Réunion is a mountainous volcanic island in the western Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar. Piton des Neiges rises at its centre, surrounded by the deep cirques of Mafate, Cilaos, and Salazie, while the active Piton de la Fournaise shapes the southeast. Steep ravines cut through the interior towards narrow coastal plains, with forests covering many of the higher slopes.
