French Southern Territories

The French Southern Territories are scattered across the southern Indian Ocean and Antarctic region, from the Crozet and Kerguelen archipelagos to Saint Paul, Amsterdam, the Scattered Islands, and Adélie Land. Volcanic peaks, steep cliffs, fjords, and windswept plateaus shape the subantarctic islands. Farther north, coral reefs ring low tropical islands near Madagascar, while Adélie Land meets the Southern Ocean in a coast of rock, ice, and glaciers.
