Bosnia and Herzegovina lies in southeastern Europe, where the Dinaric Alps shape a largely mountainous landscape of forested ridges, limestone valleys, and karst fields. Rivers including the Neretva, Una, and Drina run through deep valleys and canyons, while waterfalls and clear mountain lakes are found across the country. A short stretch of Adriatic coastline meets the sea at Neum in the south.
