The Netherlands

The Netherlands lies beside the North Sea in Western Europe, with much of its land forming part of the Rhine, Meuse, and Scheldt delta. Its mostly flat landscape includes polders reclaimed from water, sandy coastal dunes, and an extensive network of rivers, canals, and dykes. Along the northern coast, the Wadden Islands border the tidal flats and wetlands of the Wadden Sea, while the southeast rises gently toward Germany and Belgium.
