Romania

Romania lies in southeastern Europe, where the Carpathian Mountains form a broad arc around the Transylvanian Plateau. The Danube follows much of the country’s southern edge before spreading into a large wetland delta beside the Black Sea. Beyond the mountains, the landscape opens into forested hills and plains, including the Wallachian Plain in the south and Moldavian Plateau in the east.
