San Marino

San Marino lies on the northeastern side of the Apennines, surrounded by the rolling countryside of central Italy. Mount Titano rises at its centre, its three peaks forming a steep limestone ridge above wooded slopes and narrow valleys. From the higher ground, the landscape opens eastward across the Romagna plain toward the Adriatic, while small streams cut through the lower hills along the country’s edges.
