Sint Maarten

Sint Maarten lies in the northeastern Caribbean, where low coastal plains rise into rounded hills around Simpson Bay and Great Salt Pond. The western shoreline curves around Simpson Bay Lagoon, while beaches, rocky headlands, and shallow bays shape much of the coast. The landscape is generally dry, with scrub and low woodland adapted to steady trade winds and seasonal rainfall.
