Kiribati

Kiribati is spread across a vast area of the central Pacific, with 33 islands divided among the Gilbert, Phoenix, and Line island groups. Most are low-lying coral atolls encircling lagoons, while Banaba is a raised coral island. The islands lie on both sides of the equator, and their surrounding reefs, narrow strips of land, and wide stretches of ocean define the country’s geography.
