French Polynesia

French Polynesia comprises 118 islands and atolls spread across five archipelagos in the South Pacific. Tahiti and many of the other high islands are volcanic, with steep central peaks, deep valleys, and coral reefs along their coasts. The low-lying Tuamotu atolls form broad rings around lagoons, while the Marquesas rise sharply from the ocean with rugged ridges and cliffs.
